Scott Haase | VP & Pitching Coordinator
Scott Haase (BA, AFAA/NASM-PFT) is the Vice President, Co-Head of Player Development and Pitching Coordinator for Canes Indiana. He also spent 8 years as a Health Coach and AFAA Personal Fitness Trainer at Community Health Network of Central Indiana. He currently lives on the south side of Indianapolis with his wife Lora, son Max, daughter Jolie.
Over the years, Scott has developed relationships across the country inside the game of baseball at the professional, college, and private levels across the country, some of which came on our ITTV YouTube and Podcast interview show. In 2019-20 he was afforded the opportunity to be a candidate with the New York Mets for their Assistant Pitching Coordinator role, flying out to San Diego for the Winter Meetings. Because of his network, he was fortunate to be able to reach out to over 20 different colleagues with experience at the MLB/MiLB level.
After over a decade of working with pitchers, in 2021, Scott officially launched his own training company, Healthy Velo, training pitchers from all over the country.
As of 2021, Scott played a major role in achieving “Certified Facility” status with Rapsodo, becoming one of only 2 facilities in the state that are certified.
In 2019 Scott flew to Phoenix, AZ for the first-ever class of the OnBaseU Pitching Certification to become certified in assessing pitchers physically and mechanically. Scott was the first recipient of the OnBaseU Pitching Certification in the state of Indiana and is still one of less than 10 total in the state.
In addition to the OnBaseU Level 1 Pitching Certification, Scott flew to Kent, Washington in July of 2019 to attend the first-ever Driveline Baseball Foundations of Pitching Certification Course. That first class was only 9 members, putting him in an elite category in the country.
Also, in 2016, Scott traveled to Franklin, Tennessee to attend Lantz Wheeler’s (Baseball Think Tank) Coach Certification course and became one of the only certified instructors in the country.
After completing his playing days and earning his degree at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan, Scott began his coaching career in 2011. Since then, he has worked with many players at the youth, high school, college and professional levels.
Since joining the Indiana Twins in 2014, he has become the Vice President, Co-Head of Player Development and Pitching Coordinator, in charge of coordinating all off season programming and instruction for pitchers. Pitchers in the organization receive a head to toe assessment, mechanical and pitch-type video analysis and breakdown with how it relates to their physical assessment. They also receive 4 months of instruction and training at Indiana Twins Park.
The Indiana Twins have two facilities with over 6,000 square feet per building as well as three diamonds for 14U and younger to play. Players also have access to all of their assessments, feedback or notes, and velocities taken during training on Driveline Baseball‘s TRAQ software.
Scott also works individually or in small groups with pitchers outside of the Indiana Twins organization throughout the year using the same assessments, software and training protocols. You can find him on Twitter and Instagram @ScottHaase14.
Scott played Div. 2 baseball at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan. His team was part of 2 NCAA Conference Tournament appearances as well as an NCAA Regional Tournament appearance. In 6 years as the Pitching Coach at Franklin Community High School (Franklin, IN), Franklin won 2 County Tournament Championships, 2 Conference Championships, 1 Sectional Championship, a Regional appearance, multiple pitchers sign to play college baseball (2 at the Division 1 level) and 1 is currently playing in minor league baseball.
